We aim to provide high quality education and childcare places that meet the needs of both our children and parents. Both full time and term time sessions are available.
We offer full day care for children aged 2 years to statutory school age from 7:30 am to 6 pm or part time sessions (3hours) morning or afternoon all year round, except bank holidays. Parents have the option to leave their child to enjoy a nursery breakfast, lunch or tea. Snack and drinks are provided throughout the day.
Government funded places start the term after the child’s 3rd birthday and are funded during term time only.
Introductory Visits
Once a nursery place has been confirmed an introductory visiting schedule will be arranged in advance of the child's official first day.
Parent handbooks will be available giving further details. Nursery visits give numerous opportunities to meet the staff and the children and to discuss any queries or concerns you may have.
Foundation for Life
We believe that children learn best through play; our play is structured to ensure that there is an adequate blend of challenge mixed with enjoyment.
We provide opportunities for our children to explore their environment in order to make sense of the world. We do this by giving them opportunities to initiate their own play coupled with planned activities, which cover the 6 areas of learning in the Foundation stage curriculum
These are:
• Personal social and emotional development • Communication, language and literacy • Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy • Knowledge and understanding of the world • Physical development • Creative development
Play and Learning
Our dedication to experiential leaning will ensure that all our children are successful. Success breeds success and leads to high and positive self- esteem. We ensure this by observing our children, knowing them as individuals and adapting to their needs. We encourage our children to feel good about themselves and to be sensitive to others. Upon their arrival at the nursery the children will be assigned a key worker who will be responsible not only for the child but will also have time to listen to and advise the parents. Children will have a daily record book, which will accompany them between nursery and home.
Parents' evenings will be held twice a year; this gives the parents and key workers the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress, needs and development.
